  • George Strait’s 11th annual Vaqueros del Mar golf tournament and benefit concert, hosted together with longtime friend and Texas businessman Tom Cusick, raised $1.7 million for the Feherty’s Troops First Foundation. Included in the fundraising total, which will directly benefit wounded military service men and women, was $25,000 donated by the host, Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort, as pictured here. Learn more about the cause at www.troopsfirstfoundation.org.
WENT TO IT
  • Warner Music Nashville held their annual partner lunch at Ole Red and showcased someone who seems destined to be an Entertainer of the Year Chris Janson. The thing I admire so much about Janson is he always brings it. Whether it’s for 20,000 fans or a hundred industry folks, the same level of energy and passion is always there. Janson delighted the room with a barrage of hits like “Fix A Drink,” Good Vibes,” “Drunk Girl,” “Done,” “Buy Me A Boat,” and some new music that he worked on during the pandemic. His next project, which I expect will come out in the first half of 2022, is going to take him to an entirely new level and there is one very special song on this album that I cannot wait to hear! As always, check out @MorningHangover on InstaStory for highlights from the show!

  • One of the real highlights of my week here in Nashville was being able to celebrate and support CMT’s Cody Alan as he launched his new book,Hear’s The Thing,” at a terrific book party at Luke Bryan’s 32 Bridge. The admiration I have for Cody is off-the-charts and his story is incredibly moving and as real as it gets. Added bonus was hanging with two of my favorite up-and-coming artists Conner Smith and Alana Springsteen – both of whom I think are immensely talented and will do big things for years to come!
