Adam Hambrick: “Sunshine State of Mind” (from “top down, southbound”) … The project is the first of several releases, which Adam playfully describes as ‘Flip Sides,’ a series of two-track releases bound together by a common thread. Adam will continue to drop Flip Sides through the Fall and the beginning of 2021, culminating into a complete body of work.

Thomas Rhett has earned his 16th #1 hit as “Be A Light,” his current single shines brightly atop the Mediabase Country Chart this week. TR enlisted the help of friends Reba McEntire, Hillary Scott, Chris Tomlin, and Keith Urban to amplify the song’s timely and beautiful message. All proceeds from the single were donated to the ongoing MusiCares® COVID-19 Relief efforts, and last week he and Big Machine Label Group President/CEO Scott Borchetta surprised Recording Academy Chairman and Interim President/CEO Harvey Mason Jr. and MusiCares Executive Director Laura Segura via a video conference call with an additional $100,000 for the relief fund.

Emily Yahr writes for the Washington Post Style section: “Mickey Guyton has been ready for this moment. Country music kept her waiting.” — “Guyton’s music has become “a real force” with the release of “What Are You Gonna Tell Her?” and “Black Like Me,” said Cindy Mabe, president of Universal Music Group Nashville. Her honesty has made waves in a way neither of them expected, especially in an era during which many artists stay away from anything too serious. “Mickey has absolutely risen to the challenge,” Mabe said. “History shows that Mickey aligns with the forebears who built country music.”
