FRONT OF THE HOUSE

Talk about an amazing opening night of Midland’s first-ever headlining “Electric Rodeo Tour” at the 9:30 Club in DC. First off, they didn’t even take the stage until 11:30 p.m. EST. Which makes the fact that they played for 90 minutes even more impressive. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a show that started that late into the night. The bottom line is Midland is an amazing throwback to the honkey tonk glory days that somehow works in 2018. The sold-out crowd in DC would have stayed until 5 a.m. if they could have. Check out highlights right now on @MorningHangover #InstaStory and thanks to the departing AJ & Lamb from BMLG for inviting to come out to the show! Given everything happening in our world today and especially on a day when the country music community was coping with yet another mass shooting, there wasn’t a better place to be in the United States than at the Midland show.

Universal Music Group Nashville has signed singer/songwriter Caylee Hammack. A native of Ellaville, Georgia, Caylee moved to Nashville at age 19 and talked her way into gigs on Lower Broadway at night while trying to break into the songwriter community during the day. She signed a publishing deal in 2016 with Universal Music Publishing Group as the youngest writer on their roster and went on to win the ASCAP Foundation’s Sammy Cahn Award, which is given to a promising and aspiring lyricist. She is represented by Red Light Management’s Mary Hilliard Harrington and Jay Williams/Joey Lee at William Morris Endeavor. To commemorate signing her first record deal, Caylee used an antique quill pen originally used when her grandparents signed their marriage certificate over 50 years ago.
