The nominees for the 2020 GRAMMYs were announced yesterday! Lil Nas X & Billy Ray Cyrus’ historic record, “Old Town Road” dominated the all-genre categories earning nominations for “Record of the Year” & “Best Pop-Duo/Group Performance.” Natalie Hemby, Lady Gaga, Hillary Lindsey & Lori McKenna earned a “Song of the Year” nom for “Always Remember Us This Way” and Brandi Carlile & Tanya Tucker for “Bring My Flowers Now.” “Best Country Solo Performance” nominations went to Tyler Childers (All Your’n), Ashley McBryde (Girl Goin’ Nowhere), Willie Nelson (Ride Me Back Home), Blake Shelton (God’s Country) & Tanya Tucker (Bring My Flowers Now). “Best Country Duo/Group Performance” noms went to Brooks & Dunn with Luke Combs (Brand New Man), Brothers Osborne (I Don’t Remember Me Before You), Dan + Shay (Speechless), Little Big Town (The Daughters) & Maren Morris feat Brandi Carlile (Common). “Best Country Song” nominations went to the songwriters behind “Bring My Flowers Now.” “Girl Goin’ Nowhere,” “It All Comes Out In The Wash,” ” Some of It,” and “Speechless.” The “Best Country Album” nominees are “Desperate Man” (Eric Church), “Stronger Than The Truth” (Reba), “Interstate Gospel” (Pistol Annies), “Center Point Road” (Thomas Rhett) & “While I’m Living'” (Tanya Tucker). Vince Gill and Roseanne Cash earned nominations in the “Best American Roots Song.” The GRAMMYs will air live on January 26th on CBS.

As the calendar moves closer to Thanksgiving Luke Bryan fans have a little more to be thankful for and look forward to as the final line-up of performers for his CRASH MY PLAYA 2020 was announced today. The SOLD-OUT destination concert event in the Riviera Cancun region of Mexico is in its sixth year will take place January 22-25, 2020. Newly announced performers include headliner Old Dominion as well as Lee Brice, Scotty McCreery, Granger Smith, Jordan Davis, Jon Langston, Tenille Townes, Caylee Hammack, Kendell Marvel and DJ Rock. As previously announced, Luke will headline two nightly concerts and Jason Aldean, making his debut at PLAYA, will headline one night. Also, Dustin Lynch returns as the only artist who has appeared all six years of the event. This event is def on my bucket list!

The Country Music Association presented industry honors to seven highly-deserving individuals! Holly Gleason was surprised with the CMA Media Achievement AwardRob Farina (Bell Media Head of Content, Strategy and iHeartRadio) was awarded the CMA Wesley Rose International Media Achievement Award Ann Edelblute (The HQ Owner and CMA Board member) and Bill Simmons (The AMG Co-Founder and CMA Board member) received the CMA Chairman’s Award (pictured below) while Lon Helton was honored with the J. William Denny Award and Dale Morris (Dale Morris & Associates Owner) received the Irving Waugh Award of Excellence. Country Music Hall of Famer Randy Owen was honored with the CMA Foundation Humanitarian Award. In addition, Sarah Trahern (CMA Chief Executive Officer) presented mementos to Jodi Williams and Kurt Johnson (Townsquare Media Senior Vice President and CMA Board President), while Tiffany Kerns (CMA Foundation Executive Director) presented to Jennie Smythe (Girlilla Marketing Founder and CEO and CMA Foundation Chair).
