2 consecutive nights, 3-hours+ on stage, 60+songs performed – if that isn’t “Entertainer of the Year” material, I don’t know what is. Eric Church invaded DC’s The Anthem on Friday & Saturday night and put on two of the most spirited and passionate sold-out shows I have ever seen. Eric was a man possessed. It was a battle between his will to perform and the audience’s insatiable appetite for more. An audience by the way, that stood outside in line, in 35-degree cold, for 90 minutes to get in (I was in that line so speaking from firsthand experience here). The way Eric has built his career, on the road, on tour, not chasing radio singles, has paid off. Rarely do you see an audience respond so passionately to songs that never got a minute of play on the radio, the way you do at an Eric Church concert. Eric takes his fans on a full tour de force of his entire music catalog. And this wasn’t a case of an artist playing the same set on back-to-back nights, no, each night was separate, distinct, unique. There may have been 7 or 8 songs that Eric played on both nights, but apart from that, fans received a completely different setlist on each night. Eric may not be the insiders’ choice for awards, but he sure as hell is the people’s choice. Check out highlights right now on @MorningHangover featured #InstaStory
