CHEERS

I think it’s worth a “cheers” that I even got this edition out since I’ve been running the gauntlet of pre-CMA events including CMT’s Next Women of Country Brunch, Brad Paisley’s unveiling of “Bucked Off,” Monument’s Happy Hour, BBR’s CMA Pre-Party, Amazon Music’s Pinewood Social party & BMI Awards after-party! The Academy of Country Music® has announced the promotion of Maddy Stessman to the newly created role as Manager, Administration!

TOP SHELF

Be among the very first to listen to Brad Paisley’s brand new single “Bucked Off” – a true country song that features some great tributes to George Strait! Brad will perform his new song live tonight at the CMAs.

ON THE HOUSE

Such a wonderful day yesterday exploring Nashville with Lindsay Czarniak. If you don’t know Lindsay – you should. Aside from being a bad-ass sports-broadcaster (ESPN, CNN, etc.) she also just launched a new podcast called “Players” that features interviews with your favorite country music artists like Cole Swindell and Chris Young about their love/passion of sports! Fun-fact, Lindsay’s husband is none-other than TODAY Show co-host Craig Melvin

FRONT OF THE HOUSE

The BBR Pre-CMA Party at the Hard Rock in Nashville has become one of my absolute favorite events of the year. Where else can you watch so many artists perform on the same stage in one night? Last night did not disappoint as we got a look at what in many ways could very well be the future of country music with performances by Jimmie Allen, Lindsay Ell, Runaway June, Chase Rice, Walker McGuire, Granger Smith, LOCASH, Everette, Lainey Wilson, and the return of Randy Houser! The night also featured a surprise appearance from the man who built BBR – Jason AldeanCheck out @MorningHangover on Instagram/InstaStory for highlights! One editorial note: Scotty-O should emcee everything.

ON THE BAR WALL

Nothing like hanging with a guy who’s on the verge of his first #1 hit “Best Shot” – talent like Jimmie Allen makes me so proud to be a part of country music!

CRUSHIN IT

There may not be an event I experience that has the meaning that the CMT Next Women of Country brunch event does (watch highlights on our InstaStory). It is so remarkable to see this many talented women come together for the sole purpose of supporting one another. Watching artist after artist just blow the roof off the place really changes your perspective on where things stand in terms of country radio airplay and the role the women of country play in it. I for one would like to see a more visible representation of their talent on display in the chart. For anyone who doesn’t think there isn’t an audience to listen to their music and their stories, you need to get your head out of your ass and enter the 21st Century.
The nine artists joining the elite Next Women roster are Anna Vaus, Emily Hackett, Ingrid Andress, Lainey Wilson, Lauren Duski, Leah Turner, Rachel Wammack, Stephanie Quayle, and Tenille Townes.
Maren Morris was also honored at the event receiving the 2018 CMT Next Women of Country “Impact Award”
