FRONT OF THE HOUSE

The legendary Billy Gibbons electrified Washington D.C.’s new music venue “Pearl Street Warehouse” the other night. This is such a cool spot located in the newly revitalized wharf that also features the venue “The Anthem.” Capacity I believe is around 280-300. What is really impressive about this facility are the sound and technology capabilities. They have it set up to film shows in 4K. Sound is fantastic. Def hope we can get some bad-ass country acts out here soon! I’d love to see a Ryan Kinder or Maggie Rose play this spot sometime.

NEAT

In the wake of Hurricane Michael, Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley and his wife, Brittney, have played a vital role in rebuilding their 30A community. With their second Tribe Kelley location, the Tribe Kelley Surf Post, based in Grayton Beach, FL, the Ormond Beach-native has felt the devastation first-hand during massive relief efforts. Now spanning one month, the Kelleys have aided displaced animals; repaired structures and cut down trees; and recently partnered with Florida-based companies to bring brand new clothes, shoes, and toys to the families of Port St. Joe Elementary School in Port St. Joe, FL. For fans wanting to continue to help the cause, a GoFundMe page, Tribe Kelley Hurricane Relief, has been launched by the Kelleys with 100% of proceeds being donated. Their goal is set at $500,000

SHOT

Warehouse West Entertainment (Luke Wooten & Bruce Gates) have signed Willie Shaw to a publishing and artist development deal. Raised in Orange County, CA, Willie started writing his own songs at a young age thanks to his musical family upbringing. Willie’s family had an unwritten rule that you had to pick up an instrument by a young age – and his was guitar. Not only was Willie musically talented but he was a very talented baseball player. He received a scholarship to play baseball at William & Mary where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in American studies and a master’s in accounting after suffering a career-ending injury. In between classes in the summer, he busked for tips at restaurants in downtown Williamsburg where strangers turned fans encouraged him to move down to Music City. Willie moved to Nashville after graduation to work for NASA as a project specialist and then eventually as a financial representative for Northwestern Mutual. He recently gave up life in a suit for performing on stage with his guitar chops and crooning falsetto. His musical influences include Frank Sinatra, Bruno Mars, Maroon 5, Justin Timberlake and more.
