Happiest of Birthdays to one of my fav people and the most famous “voice” in country radio, Shawn Parr…can’t wait for next month’s launch of Shawn Parr’s Across the Country!
Brad Paisley took live-streams to a new level reuniting with his band for the first time since this era of social-distancing began. Performing from his studio-house in Nashville, wearing a Brett Kissel sweatshirt, Brad had each one of his band members set-up in different parts throughout the house – from the porch to the garage and everywhere in-between! Brad took live requests via Zoom and played a medley of mega-hits that made me nostalgic for outdoor amphitheater concerts. It was an ambitious effort, effectively simulcasting from five different places at once but created a fuller live-stream experience that sounded as close to a live music concert as I’ve had the chance to experience. When I think about titles like “Entertainer of the Year,” I think about artists like Brad who aren’t satisfied doing the same thing over and over and over again. They strive to find new ways to create a richer experience for us, the fans. If I were the ACMs or the CMAs, I’d give out a special Entertainer of the Year award to commemorate this unique period of time and I’d give it to Brad. You can re-live the live-stream concert right here!

So excited to share with you this new Morning Hangover feature courtesy of an amazingly talented Georgetown student named Alexandra Bowman. Alex is an incredibly talented artist who has made quite the name for herself on-campus and in my D.C. world doing political cartoons. I’ve commissioned her to start working on some creative representations of some of the great new music that has come our way. Couldn’t think of a more fitting inaugural cartoon to launch this new series than this one depicting Brad Paisley’s new song, “No I in Beer.” Hope you enjoy it!
What happens when tour life completely stops amidst a pandemic? Between clearing land, making music, rescheduling a wedding, and taking time to thank those on the frontlines, Jon Pardi is learning how to juggle his new quarantine life with his personal and professional life — while still having a whole lot of fun! Kick back and grab a seat as he takes us along with him for the (tractor) ride!
