CHEERS

Happy Birthday Sturgill Simpson & Sarah D’Hilly

TOP SHELF

This is such a cool story, two friends who live in the Rochester-suburb (near where I grew up actually) of Pittsford, opened up their front-yard and invited any and all to have a beer with them in an effort to show unity and support for equality. They got the surprise of a lifetime when Brad Paisley sent them over a truck-load of beer and joined in the gathering via zoom! I think a lot of people take for granted what a fantastic ambassador Brad is for the country music community. This is someone who time and again, finds a way to make a difference out of a genuine desire to effect change in a positive/inspiring way. He doesn’t do it for attention or recognition or superficiality. That’s just the measure of the man that he is. Says a lot during these times.

ON THE HOUSE

I had the opportunity on Saturday to visit the newly-minted Black Lives Matter Plaza in Washington D.C. and I wanted to share with you firsthand what I witnessed: 10,000 peaceful protestors of all colors, creeds, backgrounds & ages  uniting in the call for social justice. I saw assertiveness, not anger. Determination, not demagoguery. Generosity and consideration. It was the best of us and I was proud to stand with these patriots.
