Jimmie Allen is combining his deep love of family and genre-spanning taste in music for his upcoming collaboration project, Bettie James, out July 10th via Stoney Creek Records/BBR Music Group. The seven-track EP features brand new songs created with a variety of hitmakers including Darius Rucker, Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw, Nelly, Charley Pryde, The Oak Ridge Boys, Mickey Guyton, Rita Wilson & Tauren Wells and showcases Jimmie’s wide-ranging musical sensibilities. Bettie James also includes Jimmie’s current single This Is Us featuring Noah Cyrus – his fastest-consuming single, garnering more than 25 million streams to date. The project is inspired by and named after his late father, James Allen, and grandmother, Bettie Snead, who passed away in September 2019 and February 2014, respectively.

WITH A TWIST

Big Machine Label Group and CreatiVets, a non-profit organization that provides combat veterans struggling with post-traumatic stress and brain injury with opportunities to use art, music and creative writing to heal their unseen wounds of war, have entered into a joint venture for the release of upcoming album VETERAN SONGS this Friday. The 11-track album will be released via Big Machine RecordsBig Machine Music serves as the co-publisher for CreatiVets providing licensing, administration and royalty collection services for mentor songwriters and those participants who opt in. Additionally, Scott and Sandi Borchetta’s Music Has Value Fund has contributed to CreatiVets’ operational initiatives and will continue to serve as a connector for opportunities that can magnify CreatiVets within the entertainment space. VETERAN SONGS follows the release of combat veteran Geneo Graves’ autobiographical track “Stories” which is available now at all digital and streaming services. Graves penned the gut-wrenching ballad about wartime alongside CreatiVets Co-Founder/Executive Director Richard Casper and Nashville songwriters Heidi Raye and Johnny Bulford, who lends his voice to the recorded version. Upon release, fans can say “Alexa, play music by veterans” to listen to the 11-track album on Amazon Music. A majority of the proceeds from the sales and consumption of VETERAN SONGS benefits CreatiVets.

BACKSTAGE PASS

Earlier this month, the T.J. Martell Foundation celebrated Rae Krenn, everyone’s favorite hostess at The Palm in downtown Nashville, by presenting her with the first-ever Sunshine Award. As a testament to the power of Krenn’s positivity and impact on her community, the T.J. Martell Foundation has decided to rename the award — the Rae Krenn Sunshine Award. Beginning in September 2020, the award will be presented monthly to a treasured member of our community who positively makes each day a better day, just by being themselves. Recipients of the Rae Krenn Sunshine Award will be presented with a commemorative plaque, a complimentary lunch for four at The Palm in downtown Nashville and will be recognized all month long on the T.J. Martell Foundation website and social media pages. Sponsorship of the Rae Krenn Sunshine Award is a minimum $2,500 donation, which is 100% tax-deductible and supports the T.J. Martell Foundation’s cancer research programs at nine NCI-designated flagship hospitals including the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center.
