PLAN FOR IT

Charley Pride’s family and close friends will hold a private wake and memorial in Dallas this week, with future plans for a public celebration of life memorial ceremony to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to The Pride Scholarship at Jesuit College Preparatory School, St. Phillips School and Community center, any local food bank, or the charity of your choice.

CMT announced a special broadcast, CMT Remembers Charley Pride, will air tomorrow at 8/7c. The special will receive two encore presentations: Thursday, December 17th (9/8c a.m.) and Saturday, December 19th (Noon/11c). The special will include appearances and footage from some of Pride’s closest friends, colleagues, and admirers, including Darius Rucker, Loretta Lynn, Merle Haggard, Tim McGraw, Shania Twain, and more, alongside his beloved family, his wife Rozene, son Dion, sister Maxine and his brother Joe.
WAIT FOR IT

Triple Tigers recording artist Scotty McCreery was presented with a plaque commemorating the RIAA-certified Double Platinum sales of his first No.1 hit “Five More Minutes” to the Grand Ole Opry backstage this past Saturday night prior to his performance. The Opry was represented by Dan Rogers, Grand Ole Opry Vice President and Executive Producer, and Gina Keltner, Director of Opry Talent Scheduling and Logistics. “Five More Minutes” was written by McCreery, Frank Rogers (who also produced the song), and Monty Criswell.
