FRONT OF THE HOUSE

What a great weekend on Luke Bryan’s “Sunset Repeat Tour” up here in Northern California! Luke lives and breathes entertaining and after spending back-to-back nights watching him perform, it’s not hard to see why his show is one of the most exciting live entertainment experiences of the summer. Stone Cold Steve Austin would be proud of how Luke makes his entrance, on a 4-wheeler ATV and a cold one in his hand! Then he just hits you with a dizzying array of hits. But what stood out to me these two nights were the little/personal touches like jumping off-stage to give a Grandma in the crowd a hug or taking a tequila shot with a mom or bringing a little girl up on stage, assisting in a marriage proposal, and holding her in his arms as he performed a ballad. It’s easy to cast Luke as a tight-jean wearing, booty-shaking, good time, but there are more layers to him than meets the eye. This comes out especially during his performances of “Drink A Beer” and “Most People Are Good.” The funniest thing I saw while watching, was a wife trying to get her husband to stand next to her during “Country Girl Shake It From Me,” but the guy was having so much fun with his bro, that he ignored her. Luke might be the only act that gets just as much love from the fellas as he does the ladies! You can check out some of my favorite moments from both nights right now on @MorningHangover featured InstaStories under “Sunset Repeat Tour”

ON THE BAR WALL

CRUSHIN IT

You wanna talk about joy personified? That’s Cole Swindell on stage. I don’t think I’ve seen an artist who exudes so much gratitude in his expressions while he performs than Cole. It’s an incredibly endearing quality and hard to believe that we’ve all been on this journey with Cole for six years now. But that’s the thing about him, he makes you fee like you really are a part of his story. One of the best live moments you’ll ever see at a show is during “Ain’t Worth The Whiskey” when he takes a song about a girl who isn’t worth it and turns it into patriotic moment that’ll give you goosebumps!

BUZZIN

As if Luke & Cole weren’t enough reason to see a live show, Jon Langston gives fans a reason to get there early and watch someone who could very well be one of the real big stars of the next ten years. The more I see Jon perform, the more I feel like he is a hybrid of two of my fav artists’ Jason Aldean and Brantley Gilbert.

NEAT

thomasrhettakins shared this family photo on Insta: Well I guess we have officially started getting into Halloween

MIXED DRINKS

Love this – Temecula Road (and Manager Matt) with the Golden State Warriors’ Festus Ezeli this weekend in NorCal

WITH A TWIST

One of my fav moments of the night is when Luke brings Cole & Jon back on stage to perform a few good ole’ 90’s country music songs including one of my favs, Tim McGraw’s “Green Grass Grows” and David Lee Murphy’s “Dust On the Bottle”

ALL ACCESS

Can’t thank manager extraordinaire Kerri Edwards for everything she has done to help/support me. Have so much professional admiration for Kerri!

BACKSTAGE PASS

Things that only happen when you’re in Mountain View, CA … Facebook COO @sherylsandberg: “Really special time at the @lukebryan concert last night. Luke held a sleeping toddler for an entire song, assisted with an on-stage marriage proposal, and after an energetic set full of his own hit songs, closed the show with a great cover of Bon Jovi’s “Living on a Prayer.” ⁣Before the concert, @tom_bernthal and I were lucky enough to spend some time with him. Luke tragically lost his brother and then his sister. When his sister’s husband also passed away, Luke and his wife, Caroline, adopted his sister’s three children. They’re making the most out of their Option B and creating new memories together by going bass fishing and traveling as a family on tour. ⁣Toward the end of the show, he played my favorite song, “Most People Are Good.” My favorite lyric from the song: “I believe most people are good” (yes!) “and most mamas oughta qualify for sainthood” (not sure, but every mother I know loves this line…)⁣ Thank you, Luke, for such a memorable night.

AFTER PARTY

What a fun weekend with my NorCal #TailgateTeam crew! Maria, Jen, Kindra, Casey, Mike & my baby bro Gabe – can’t ask for a better crew to hang with than this bunch!

LAST CALL
